Office 365 Automation

By Events

Domo arigato, Microsoft Roboto

The name of the game in today’s business environment is automation! However, most businesses are not aware of all of the options available to them as Microsoft customers.
In this month’s meeting, HMB’s Russell Patrick will explore all of our options when it comes to automation in the Microsoft stack.
These options range from building bots with conversational automation services in order to build robotic process automations for day-to-day tasks.
We will look at Microsoft’s Cognitive Intelligence API, and then build a bot using conversational automation.
We will wrap it all up by building an automated robotic process using Microsoft’s Power Automate.
By the end of this session you will be able to talk intelligently about building robotic processes and how you can use these tools at your organization!
Bring your questions!

SQL for the Sysadmin: What Non-DBAs Need to Know

By Events

Daataa…daataa…datadatadatadatada

On occasion, as a sysadmin or provider of Infrastructure Support, you have no doubt dealt with those pesky database administrators. They are so needy, they have unreasonable requirements, and they tend to stress about the smallest of things.

But have you ever wondered what is really going on under the hood of a SQL Server? What is the best way to secure it? Why is performance so sporadic? Why is it so hungry for resources?

In this session we will explore some of the nuances of SQL Server, and also attempt to remove the “black box” qualities that overshadow it. In the end, we will all hopefully agree that the DBA is truly indeed neurotic… but understandably so.
